Rebuilding the problematic Holley 4000 ‘Teapot’ carb…….
So the ’55 bird I’m recommissioning has been sitting a long time, at least 3 years here in the UK.
The carb was pumping dirty fuel through but not running at all. It was time to take it apart and rebuild it. After a few days we got it running with all new internals. One of the jets was totally blocked with dirt and there was sediment everywhere inside the float chamber etc. It was resealed and ran beautifully. There weren’t even any leaks from the secondary tube ‘O’ rings which are always an issue after rebuilding.
